The holiday season is upon us and for those who lost a love one, it is not an easy time of year. Christmas is a time to love and remember those we have loved and cared for. As the holiday’s near it is difficult to know how to express the love that still exists for that significant person who has been a part of our lives. Loved ones we have lost are never forgotten.

REMEMBER THE LOVE ONES MISSING FROM YOUR FAMILY TREE!
We invite the public to participate in our “Christmas Tree of Remembrance.” This Service is designed for grievers to remember their loved ones in a special way. The Tree will give people an opportunity to remember those people and places by placing a personalized ornament on the tree. The Tree will be lit on Thursday during the Schmeckenfest on the Square. The Fayette County Genealogical Society will have a booth next to the Tree selling the ornaments. The Ornaments will cost $5.00 each and you can purchase as many as you would like. After the Holiday’s you will be allowed to pick up your ornaments. All names will be placed in a Memory book in which new names will be added yearly. These names will also appear on the Fayette County Genealogical Website (www.faycogensoc.com) Proceeds to benefit the La Grange Library and Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives You do not have to live in Fayette County to participate. You may place your order early by contacting Connie Sneed at 979-968-4963 or filling out the form below.

LA GRANGE – The Fayette County Genealogical Society invites members of the community to purchase a dove in memory of loves ones that are no longer living. The ornaments will be personalized and hung on the Christmas Tree of Remembrance on the lawn of the Fayette County Courthouse for the Christmas season.

The Fayette County Genealogical Society will be selling the doves at a booth next to the tree at Schmechenfest. There is no limit on the number of doves that one individual or family may choose to purchase. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Faison House Restoration Fund. All names that are memorialized will be compiled annually in a Memory Book and will also be listed on the Fayette County Genealogical Society Website (www.faycogensoc.webs.com).
