Fayette County Genealogical Society

We need volunteers to serve on our committee.  The life and longevity of our Society and the fate and quality of the programs we can put on for the membership depends on you.  If you've never volunteered before or it's been a while, please consider serving our Society in some capacity for the coming year.  We are always looking for people with all kinds of talents....or people with time to do all kinds of tasks.  Can you organize or research data?  Are you interested in transcribing documents, indexing, raising money or promoting the group?  Whatever your talents and interests, we can use them.

The Society newsletter will be up and coming and  is currently accepting submissions of articles, and/or article ideas to be included in future publications. Email us  for further information.

The Society Web Site has been started and with your ideas and suggestions we can make this a wealth of information.

Donating Materials

     The materials donated to the Society are always appreciated.    When you donate the information you have, you are inevitably helping someone else who shares the same love of family history as you. 

     Donating to the Society can be accomplished in many forms.  Transcribed vital records from books you may have come across in the local library...  Creating a Surname Index for a particular book...   Transcribing an entire book and allowing us to post your transcription online.   And there are more ways to donate, just ask us!

There are many ways you can contribute, whether you're a local yokel or a distant cousin! Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! We give you our thanks in advance for any contribution you can make, whether large or small, since in helping each other, we also help ourselves.
